Mr. Pop History – That is correct. The famed pets.com sock puppet went away when that website shut down in November of 2000. But did it? No. A few years later, it became the mascot for those 1-800-Bar None commercials. It’s highly unusual that the same icon was used for two separate companies/products. In fact, it may be the only time in pop history that it happened. Good question!
