Hannah Montana’s fourth and final season is set to debut as “Hannah Montana Forever” begins Sunday, July 11. It still follows student-by-day, pop-star-by-night Miley Stewart but now, she and her dad and brother will relocate from their Malibu beach house to their new ranch. In addition, the upcoming season will welcome new guest stars including Sheryl Crow, Jay Leno and Kelly Ripa.
Google on announced it will buy online travel software company ITA Software for $700 million cash, a move the search giant hopes will boost its visibility in the highly competitive airfare market. Boston-based ITA specializes in organizing airline data, including flight times, availability and prices. Its data is used on a host of websites like Kayak, Orbitz, Expedia.com, TripAdvisor and Microsoft’s) Bing, as well as a number of airlines’ websites. Nearly half of airline tickets are now bought online, according to Google.
According to Variety, Paul Reubens’ beloved character, Pee-wee Herman, is slated for a return to the big screen with Judd Apatow set to produce. The new Pee-wee movie reportedly takes him on the road in “a gigantic adventure.”

Radio news - Jhani Kaye breaks a radio industry record. Kaye now programs two top-5 rated music radio stations in a major market – Los Angeles. His oldies K-Earth and “The Wave” are now in the top 5 – an amazing feat for any program director. It’s said that Mr. Kaye makes $1million plus a year – and we’re sure he’s well worth it. Kaye must eat, sleep and shower with radio on his mind. Just the people meter analysis for both stations must keep him plenty busy.
Not A Prickly Experience - Miley Cyrus discussed her “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” performance on ABC’s “Good Morning America” with Bret Michaels, Friday morning. “[Bret] still makes albums that he loves and is proud of and he has those kind of fans like my dad has, like I hope I have one day, those ones that have been there for 30 years and still try to go to every show,” Miley said. “He’s the greatest guy.”Though Bret’s been in the news for his health woes recently, Miley – who recorded the track “Nothin’ To Lose” with him before he got sick – said she was proud to not be a fair-weather fan.

Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart married in a secret ceremony this week. The pair have been dating since 2002, after meeting at that year’s Golden Globe Awards when Calista spilt her glass of wine on the actor. They got engaged on Valentine’s Day last year, but Calista has not been wearing a ring and both stars have repeatedly refused to discuss their wedding plans.
No Regret Is His Middle Name – Perez Hilton appeared on The Joy Behar Show and said he had no regrets about posting an upskirt photo of 17-year-old Miley Cyrus. (Uh… instead of Perez – we thought Paris looked better).
Who Kicked The Dogg Out? - Snoop Dogg banned again by Dutch officials. The rapper is forbidden to perform at a Dutch Music Festival by the local town mayor. This is the second time Snoop Dogg has been denied from attending musical festivities in the United Kingdom. This is not the first time Snoop has been denied access to another country. In 2006, he was denied entry into the U.K. after he was arrested following an angry dispute at London’s Heathrow Airport.

Miley Cyrus may sing about how she “Can’t Be Tamed” in her new single, but it looks like the producers of “Dancing With the Stars” ” think that actually can. Miley, who is set to perform the song on Tuesday’s “Dancing,” has been warned by producers to keep things G-rated. The report comes a week after Miley was filmed giving one of her “Last Song” producers a lap dance. The recent release of the “Can’t Be Tamed,” in which a highly sexualized Miley dances in a birdcage (see video below), also caused controversy.
FOX is changing the “American Idol” ” format after it sagged in the ratings (dropping 9% in young viewership) giving a push to “Glee” and focusing on comedy heading into the next television season. In response to viewer requests for more performances, Fox will increase the Tuesday night competition show from an hour to 90 minutes. The Wednesday results show will be chopped in half to 30 minutes, Fox executives said. Despite the ratings slide, “American Idol” continues as the nation’s most popular TV show.
William Shatner will star in his first sitcom. CBS has given the green light to a show, “Bleep My Dad Says,” on which the son of Shatner’s character has more than a million followers to a Twitter account where he writes down his father’s musings.

Screwed Is The Word According To Leno - In an interview – Jay Leno summed up the recent NBC debacle - “Conan got screwed. I got screwed,” Leno said. “This is TV. The reason show business pays a lot of money is so when you get screwed you’ve got something left over.” I think Conan will come back and he’ll be strong,” Leno said. “And we’ll all compete against one another. It should be me against Letterman, against Conan, against, and then you see who wins,” he said.
Miley slammed by critics in her first movie made outside her “Hannah Montana” character as it opened in U.S. theaters on Wednesday, but “The Last Song” was still expected to perform well at box offices. The weepy romantic drama, written by best-selling author Nicholas Sparks, was deemed melodramatic and formulaic and claimed only a seven percent approval rating on reviews aggregator rotten tomatoes. Cyrus, 17, who has said she wants to make a career in movies after five years playing Disney Channel’s “Hannah Montana”, was widely savaged for her performance as a surly teen sent to spend the summer with her estranged father.
Last week, Wikipedia crashed and if you’ve tried to visit YouTube this evening, chances are good you were served with an error page. This comes a week after another “Tube” outage – but not to worry A redesigned YouTube is on its way, according to a post on YouTube’s official weblog. The site is changing its video pages to introduce several new features, including a playlist interface and revamped rating system, which favors a “like/dislike” rating system over a star ranking. It’s a change they first introduced two months ago to some users, and are now rolling out to all users worldwide.

It Just Didn’t Make Sense – Google announces it has stopped censoring search results in China. The announcement came amid speculation that the search giant would pull out of China entirely and sets up a showdown with the Communist leadership there. Google said it stopped running the censored Google.cn service on Monday and was routing its Chinese users to an uncensored version of Google based in Hong Kong.
They Were Expendable – Miley Cyrus’ boyfriend Liam Hemsworth is now dumped – from Sylvester Stallone’s new action movie “The Expendables” after writers decided they had too many characters. Also gone – the late Brittnay Murphy . Hemsworth told London’s Sunday Herald Sun newspaper that at least he got the chance to speak to Stallone over the role: “I was at my friend’s house and I got a phone call from my Australian agent who had sent my tape in a few days before and he said, ‘Stallone is going to call you in a few days,’; and I went back into my buddy’s house and said, ‘Rocky’s gonna give me a call, no big deal.’”
But – better news for Miley as she is now set to appear as a guest mentor on “American Idol” and help the Top 11 finalists prepare for their performances on a Billboard No.1 Hits-themed show airing Tuesday, March 23 on FOX. The Wednesday, March 24 results show will feature Cyrus performing her new hit “When I Look at You,” along with Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato singing their song “Make a Wave.”
Conan Can’t - “American Idol” producer 19 Entertainment, approached Conan O’Brien to participate in its “Idol Gives Back” special on Wednesday, April 21. Unfortunately, O’Brien won’t be able to participate because his agreement with NBC keeps him from making TV appearances until May 1, says The Hollywood Reporter. Word has it that O’Brien is talking to Fox about post May 1 opportunities.

Don’t miss The Rutles “All You Need Is Cash” this week on NBC. It’s described as a well-constructed rendition of Beatlemania. Included – a soundtrack that reminds you of Beatles music – sort of Beatles music turned inside-out. Appearing – Eric Idol, Rikki Fataar, John Halsey and Neil Innes. Both Innes and Idol conceived the project.
Andre Previn leads the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra this week.
Peter Frampton takes a roll on NBC’s “Baa Baa Black Sheep” starring Robert Conrad. His new movie – “Sergeant Pepper” will be released in July. In that film, he has no dialogue and this guest starring role gives him that opportunity.

James Garner and Jack Kelly reprise their 1950’s roles in “The New Maverick” – a two-hour TV movie for ABC-TV.
Lorimar is launching a series about a family brimming with hate. Called “Dallas” – CBS is giving it a five week run beginning Sunday of this week. The first episode sees son Bobby, played by Patrick Duffy), bring home a bride played by Victoria Principal.

Facebook Beats Google - Facebook topped Google to become the most visited U.S. Web site last week, indicating a shift in how Americans are searching for content. Web analysis firm Experian Hitwise said Monday that the social networking site surpassed Google to take the No. 1 spot for the week ended March 13. It shows content sharing has become a huge driving force online,” said Matt Tatham, director of media relations at Hitwise. “People want information from friends they trust, versus the the anonymity of a search engine.” Though the traffic levels were close, Facebook’s year-over-year growth far outpaced Google’s that week. The number of visitors to Facebook spiked 185% compared with the same period last year, while Google’s traffic climbed just 9%.
NBC Loves The Donald – NBC is bringing back the original Apprentice. The non-celebrity version of the reality show from executive producers Mark Burnett and Donald Trump will return for a sixth season with a revised format. It will emphasize the country’s economy by casting 14 contestants affected by the recession. The new cast will consist of people who have been laid off, are unhappy with their current career path or recently graduated with few possibilities.
Miley Cyrus Can’t Wait For … Miley Cyrus is counting the days until the end of Hannah Montana. “What I am sure about is I’m going to rejoice and be happy to finally not have to be … well, to not be somebody I’m not exactly,” the 17-year-old star said. “As I’ve grown into it, I’ve grown out of it. When I was 12, I thought, ‘I want to be famous all the time! I want everybody to recognize me!’” But now, Miley — who began filming the fourth season, which will run until early 2011, in January — says she has “to grit my teeth” when she is forced to wear.

Friday – March 17 – “Pirate Radio” KQLZ debuts in Los Angles. “Southern California, it’s time to wake up… the mother ship has landed; Pirate radio 100.3… welcome to the jungle” was the first announcement heard. The DJ lineup is Scott Shannon mornings followed by Whitney Allen, Shadow Steele, Domino, Jimmy Page and Bubba the Love Monkey overnights. “Pirate Radio” was supposed to debut in April, but owner WestWood One wanted to catch everyone by surprise.
The so-called “Morning Zoo” comedy repertory that made Shannon’s Z-100 (New York) very popular in the morning. will not be used. Unlike Z-100, “Pirate Radio” will lean more rock. Besides, rival Power –106 and morning man Jay Thomas have “borrowed” the Morning Zoo to describe their show.
Pirate Radio is the talk of the industry. There’s much anticipation about how the station will sound and just what it will try to pull off.
A&M is reducing prices of 45rpm vinyl singles from $1.99 to $1.19. It is trying to reduce the amount of mountainous returns of singles due to lack of sales.
The compact disk achieved a volume growth of 56% in the U.S., Japan and Europe in 1988.

Goodbye Mr. Phelps - Mr. Pop Culture favorite Peter Graves dies of a heart attack at 83. Graves was the one, the only Mr. Phelps of TV’s “Mission: Impossible” during its iconic network run – 1967 into the 1970’s.
“Goodbye Love” & Goodbye Mr. DJ – Another Mr. Pop Culture favorite – Ron Lundy – one of the great NYC DJ’s has passed. Ron Lundy was 76. Lundy’s signature greeting was “Hello Luv.”
Gaga TV – Lady Gaga is to become the latest star guest on hit TV show “Glee.” The “Poker Face” hitmaker has signed up to join the cast of the all-singing-all-dancing series following a request from show bosses. “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy says, “We reached out to Lady Gaga and she said, ‘Yes, I’d love to be a part of it.’ So we will be doing Lady Gaga this season.”

She knew more about it than anyone.” He also admitted, “Intimacy’s always tough. I feel like it’s the hardest thing for me as an actor.” Miley – “I don’t know who had a bigger crush on him at the beginning, my mom or me. I was like, ‘No, maybe he’s just too pretty. I don’t want to be with someone who’s better looking than me. That’s like awkward.’”
Sheen Shines In Court - Charlie Sheen (Carlos Irwin Estevez) pleads not guilty in Aspen to domestic violence charges, and was scheduled for a July 21 trial stemming from a Christmas Day altercation with his wife. He was arrested Dec. 25 in the Colorado winter resort after police received a 911 call from his wife, Brooke Mueller, claiming the sitcom star had a knife and was threatening to kill her.
