Workers have removed a gigantic Nike banner featuring LeBron James, a sign that hung on the side of a downtown building for years and served as a background for the Cleveland Cavaliers’’ success during the seven years he played for them. The mural was taken down after James announced he planned to leave Cleveland as a free agent to play for the Miami Heat.

Passing – Longtime Yankee owner George Steinbrenner  – of a massive heart attack. He was 80. Steinbrenner, who celebrated his birthday July 4, had been in fragile health for several years.

iPhone 4 – Consumer Reports contradicts Apple’s claim that its iPhone 4 problem is a bad formula that measures signal intensity. That isn’t the case. The real problem is the antenna, as critics have charged.

The Hollywood Reporter says Ryan Seacrest is piloting a new dance show project for E! Networks. Exact details of the untitled project have yet to be revealed, but the show will co-star Lady Gaga choreographer Laurie Ann Gibson and will revolve around choreographers and dancers in Los Angeles.

Lower demand – Seven shows on the American Idol Live! Tour have been canceled while others have been changed, according to a revised schedule released by tour organizer Live Nation. The tour featuring the ninth season’s top 10 singers was originally planned to end Sept. 16 in Portland, Maine, but is now scheduled to stop on Sept. 14 in Pittsburgh.

The Hollywood Reporter says Ryan Seacrest is piloting a new dance show project for E! Networks. Exact details of the untitled project have yet to be revealed, but the show will co-star Lady Gaga choreographer Laurie Ann Gibson and will revolve around choreographers and dancers in Los Angeles

Music passing – Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Moonglows member and Motown legend Harvey Fuqua died at age 80 on Tuesday in a Detroit hospital. The cause of death was “coronary problems” from an unspecified illness, according to the Motown Alumni Association.

Total Eclipse - Twilight fans have been camping out for days in Los Angeles waiting for tonight’s “Eclipse” premiere. This chick flick is in motion!

Rapping It Up -  Dr. Dre and Timbaland – rapper-producers shocked students when they appeared at a high school graduation party in Culver City, Calif. Dr. Dre introduced Timbaland, who performed the tunes “The Way I Are,” “Promiscuous Girl,” “Carry Out” and “Say Something” on a stage inside the school’s gymnasium. Students invited had no idea the hip-hop masterminds were the guests of honor.

3D TV Concerns – According to Samsung, children and teenagers may be more at risk to health issues related to 3D viewing. Those with family history of epilepsy or strokes are warned that exposure to flashing lights may cause seizures. Who else should avoid watching television in 3D? Pregnant women, the elderly, the sleep-deprived, those suffering from serious medical conditions and anyone under the influence of alcohol.Samsung also warned people to stop watching 3D if they experience any of the following symptoms: altered vision, lightheadedness, dizziness, – involuntary movements such as eye or muscle twitching, confusion, nausea, convulsions, cramps, and disorientation.

PR Power Play – Ryan Seacrest Saves The Day – American Idol” contestant Crystal Bowersox has been a frontrunner on the FOX reality competition from the start, but she reportedly almost quit the show two weeks ago. She walked off the show and was ready to call it quits, when host Ryan Seacrest saved the day. Crystal reportedly told Ryan, “What’s the point?” and said she couldn’t handle the competition. The singer said she was planning on leaving and returning to Ohio to be with her family.

In what could be a first for the new gadget, Jens Stoltenberg told CNN he used the iPad to manage the situation at home as Norway closed its airspace under threat from the ash.A photograph of Stoltenberg using the device was posted on the Internet by Norwegian officials under the title “The prime minister is working at the airport.

Passing – TV actor Robert Culp who teamed with Robert Culp in the racially groundbreaking TV series I Spy and was Bob in the critically acclaimed sex comedy Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice, died Wednesday after collapsing outside his Hollywood home, his agent said. Culp was 79. The actor was a on series television during the 1960′s through the 1970′s and into the 1980′s. Check out his guest-starring “bad-guy” roles Columbo.

Simon Cowell Wears Bowersox – Simon Cowell no doubt – likes contender Crystal Bowersox. The  singer, who has thus far had a penchant for performing barefoot on a rug with her guitar, tackled a Janis Joplin standard – “Me & Bobby McGee”  — for an “American Idol” week made up of Billboard #1 hits, mentored by teen pop star Miley Cyrus. Cowell quipped, “You’re doing your own thing, you’re not sliding all over the stage, jumping into the crowd like we’ve seen before, gimmicky,” Simon said, referencing Tim Urban’s performance earlier in the night. “You’ve just took a song, nailed it and you’re only gimmick is a carpet.”

His Manager Needs A’Justin – NY – Scott “Scooter” Braun, manager for pop sensation Justin Bieber, awaits arraignment on charges of reckless endangerment and criminal nuisance. His lawyer said he will plead not guilty. His arrest stems from a planned appearance in November by the 16-year-old Bieber at Roosevelt Field Mall. When the crowd of 3,000 became unruly, Nassau County police canceled the event. But some fans refused to leave, crowding the narrow area outside the clothing store where Bieber was scheduled to sign autographs. Five people were taken to hospitals with minor injuries.

Former WABC Radio (NY) newsman George Weber was found murdered in his Brooklyn apartment after failing to report to work for two days, sources told The Post. Weber, who would have turned 48 today, was discovered half-naked in his bed shortly before 10 a.m. inside his apartment with his throat slashed and more than a dozen stab wounds to his neck.
