Mr. Pop’s fascinating facts and trivia –

c 1920 - Coca-Cola bottler Virgil Browne develops a contraption that can carry six coke bottles so customers could take home more than one bottle. Thus, the idea of the six-pack was born.

Jan 1980 – A man dies after 110 multicolored balloons containing cocaine bust inside his intestines as he went through customs at Miami International Airport. Total amount carried was a half-pound. The balloons burst after passing through his gastrointestinal track, where they absorbed water and eventually burst.

July 1980 – Previewing Bruce Springsteen’s next album in the studio, rocker Bob Seger comments – “And it’s the first time I’ve ever been able to understand everything he’s saying without a lyric sheet.”
