"Got a Pop History/Pop Culture question from the 60's, 70's, 80's or 90's?" Just askmrpophistory@mrpophistory.com

Mr. Pop’s fascinating facts and trivia –

August (1973) – Harry Wells (78), deciding to take a walk, returns to his house, but goes to the wrong one – an identical split-level next door and 40 feet away. Finding the door locked, he began shaking it. Believing someone was trying to break-in, the owner fired a shotgun through the closed front door. Wells was hit in the chest and died.

March (1958) – A doorbell ringing saves the lives of Jesse Niemela, his wife and daughter. The doorbell short-circuited as a result of a fire that was raging in the attic of their home.

January (1990) – An American tourist commits suicide in Trinidad after throwing himself into the jet engine of a taxing jetliner at Piarco International Airport. The man was identified as Dan O’Brien of Illinois.

Come back soon, as I answer, to the best of my knowledge, another one of your pop history/culture questions.
