The Brothers Grunt

From Jay C – Hello Mr. Pop. I’m trying to find the name of the MTV cartoon that tried to be like “Beavis and Butthead.” Same kind of attitude. The characters didn’t talk and you had to read their dialogue. What was the name? Thank you.

Mr. Pop History – My guess is the obscure “The Brothers Grunt” from 1994. They didn’t talk. They grunted. Here’s how one reviewer described it:

“The Brothers Grunt follows the earthly misadventures of six hideous netherworld creatures. It isn’t cleaver or funny but it is vulgar.”

What’s interesting is, the cartoon came after these guys were featured in MTV identification slides.
