Ken Berry Sings

From Roxanna R – Hello Pop! Hey big daddy, I use to have a record by that well-known singer Ken Berry (wink wink). Yes, the same guy who played the Captain in F-Troop and the same one who took Andy Griffith’s place in Mayberry. Am I crazy? He didn’t sing all that bad. I can’t find this on the Internet. Help!

Mr. Pop History – Oh, so tongue-in-cheek. Does anybody know that Mr. Berry even cut a record album, much less sing? Fact is, he did. This was during his “Mayberry R.F.D.” days. I found this from 1970. Is this it? Name of the album is Ken Berry/R.F.D. and in it, he sings such hits of the day as “Wichita Lineman” and “Close To You.” It’s on Barnaby Records, then owned by singer Andy Williams.

Come back soon, as I answer, to the best of my knowledge, another one of your pop history/culture questions.
