Earl-Jean

From Tom C – Mr. Pop – Going back into the 1960’s, can you name three songs that were “covered” by British acts from American artists and then became bigger hits. The songs had to have charted first by American acts. A friend gave me this quiz.

Mr. Pop History – And it’s a good one. Here are my three:

“Needles and Pins” – Jackie DeShannon first… Searchers had the bigger hit.

“I’m In To Something Good” – Earl Jean first … Herman’s Hermits had the bigger hit.

“Over and Over” – Bobby Day first – Dave Clark Five had the bigger hit.

Come back soon, as I answer, to the best of my knowledge, another one of your pop history/culture questions.
