“Bosom Buddies”

From Kelly G – OK Mr. Pop – I’ve got you on this one! Tell me the first TV show that used a past hit record as a theme song. 

Mr. Pop History – Although today, commercials and TV shows can be loaded with past hits (very little originality) – this trend actually began… back in 1981. The show – Tom Hanks’ “Bosom Buddies” used Billy Joel’s “My Life” as a theme song. It’s the first time I remember when a TV theme song wasn’t original.
