“Too Close for Comfort”

From Fran K – Mr. Pop – Was there ever a television series – a popular one – which had to cease production entirely because a main cast member died?

Mr. Pop History – Usually, the show goes on, but not in the case of “Too Close for Comfort” when beloved actor Ted Knight, who played cartoonist Henry Rush, died in August 1986 after surgery for a urinary tract growth. The series died with him. This was a very popular show and had been on the air for six years.
