| 1991 Seattle |
From JVM – Mr. Pop – What U.S. City was once called, by Rolling Stone Magazine, the “new Liverpool?” Thank you.
Mr. Pop History – This of course, is a music question and Liverpool is a reference to all the great bands that came from that English city – starting with the Beatles.
The city was Seattle – which, during the early 1990’s was captivating the rock and upcoming grunge scene with bands such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden. Even had it’s own record label – Sub Par and dress – flannel shirts and torn jeans. |
