“The Harlettes”

From Ellen Y – I have a small bet with my brother – that singer Bette Midler had a TV sitcom, but it wasn’t on the air for long.

Mr. Pop History – I can always tell when something doesn’t show up on IMDB because – well – it’s a question not on the Internet. Glad to help out.

This is one of those grey areas, because you don’t say if she appeared in the program. Her production company talked CBS into something called “The Harlettes” – a sitcom based on her backup singers. There must have been plenty of stories with those girls! Ms. Midler only appeared in the pilot. The show lasted only 13 episodes and this was in 1996.
