From Patty F - Mr. Pop, I know Lucille Ball & Desi Arnaz divorced in 1960. Didn't "I Love Lucy" also take its marriage toll on Vivian Vance?

Mr. Pop History - Yes, but to be accurate, "I Love Lucy" was already gone with Ms. Vance and Ms. Ball announced their respective divorces. Here's something from the Mr. Pop History archives in April 1959:

Divorces - actress Vivian Vance (45) "I Love Lucy" from actor Philip Ober. She testified that she would gladly have given up her career to save her marriage and he, though jealous of her success, wanted to live on a higher scale, mostly on her earnings. She was granted the right to use her legal maiden name - Vivian Roberta Jones.
