From Jimmy V - Saw the Buddy Rich "best drummer" question and answer. Back in the 1970's, there were a number of great guitarists. Wasn't Steve Howe of the group "Yes" considered one of the best? Mr. Pop History - "Yes" he was. From Guitar Player - November/ 1979… Guitar Player magazine says that Steve Howe of "Yes" is the best guitarist in the nation. In a ranking by its readers strictly by player edibility - Roy Clark is best country guitarist, best new talent was Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits and Paul McCartney came in fourth in the bass category. |
